In Success Lab's Leadership Coaching Series and Management Incubator programs we've partnered with not-for profit agencies to work on community impact projects. Working with community based organizations on strategic plans and "hands on" projects is a chance for our participants to build and hone leadership and teamwork skills while they invest in our community. Our Leadership Coaching Series and Management Incubator classes have taken on projects with organizations such as Volunteers of America, Baton Rouge Green, Adult Literacy Advocates, National Coalition for Community & Justice, Historic Cemetery Coalition, Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention and Mid City Redevelopment Alliance. Success Labs and the Leadership Coaching Series and Management Incubator classes have donated more than $4,000 and over 600 work hours to community organizations in the Baton Rogue area since 2005. Take a look at the people and companies building leadership and building our community...

Volunteers of America - America House
We called this project: "While you Were Out", meets "The Apprentice", meets Management Incubator. The task for these two teams was to re-do/decorate a guest room and bathroom at America House, the only homeless shelter in Baton Rouge for families. These high achievers cleaned rooms, painted walls, hung curtains, and provided new sheets, comforters, and furniture. But they didn't stop there. They painted and hung curtains in the dining room and outside they filled the children's sand box with sand, installed a new basketball goal and donated a new picnic table. Wow!

National Coalition for Community & Justice
The National Coalition for Community & Justice is an organization dedicated to human relations, fighting bias, bigotry and racism and promoting understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures. This group had one of the most interesting projects our classes have taken on. Their goal was to develop a plan to increase the visibility of the organization and it's mission, ultimately resulting in increased funding opportunities and increased programming to impact the community in a positive way. As a community, as businesses and as individuals diversity continues to be important to address and this project challenged participants to deal with such issues head on.

Historic Cemetery Coalition - Sweet Olive Cemetery
This group didn't know what to think when we informed them their project would take place in a cemetery! They soon embraced the challenge...beautifying and enhancing a neglected historic part of Baton Rouge's history. The team cleaned and painted tombs, planted trees and flowers, installed a meditation bench, and dedicated a plaque to a long time supporter of Sweet Olive.

Management Incubator - September 2004
These teams took on painting a house in a day. Not only did they beautifully paint the house but they also recruited record numbers of volunteers who were able to help out at other work sites. They went above and beyond the call of duty by donating fire alarms and extinguishers to the homeowner and her neighbors to help keep them safe from fire. Great job!
